{"id":14936,"date":"2014-04-23T17:21:08","date_gmt":"2014-04-23T17:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=14936"},"modified":"2014-04-23T17:22:54","modified_gmt":"2014-04-23T17:22:54","slug":"pure-water-in-kumasi-now-20-pesewas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/04\/pure-water-in-kumasi-now-20-pesewas\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Pure\u2019 water in Kumasi now 20 pesewas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sachet water consumers in Kumasi are to brace themselves to pay more for the product after local producers raised the price of the commodity on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday\u2019s decision by the Sachet Water Producers Association in Kumasi raised the price of a bag of water from GHS1.80 to GHS 3.<\/p>\n<p>The association has therefore called on retailers to set the new price of a sachet of water at GHS 0.20 in order to enable them, at least, break even.<\/p>\n<p>In a CitiNews interview, the Association\u2019s Secretary, Antwi Agyei, blamed the decision to increase the price of the commodity on recent increases in key taxes and fuel prices.<\/p>\n<p>He said \u201ca lot of things have accounted for\u201d the decision. \u201cSome of these include the cost of taxes, fuel cost, electricity and water tariffs, labour cost and cost of spare parts.
