{"id":149172,"date":"2015-09-07T06:20:15","date_gmt":"2015-09-07T06:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=149172"},"modified":"2015-09-07T07:36:44","modified_gmt":"2015-09-07T07:36:44","slug":"secret-ecobank-account-existed-12-years-ago-blay-responds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/09\/secret-ecobank-account-existed-12-years-ago-blay-responds\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Secret&#8217; Ecobank account existed 12 years ago \u2013 Blay responds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The First National Vice Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>, <a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/09\/03\/cid-chases-freddy-blay-npp-treasurer-over-diverted-funds\/\" target=\"_blank\">Freddie Blay<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, says his reputation has been badly tarnished by the brouhaha over an alleged diversion of funds involving him and the party\u2019s National Treasurer, Abankwa Yeboah.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The two, have been accused of operating a secret NPP account at Ecobank against the party\u2019s laid down procedures by an NPP Youth activist, Baah Acheamfour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The matter has since become a subject of police investigations after the said youth activist lodged a complaint at the Criminal Investigations Department, CID.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;Y4QJJwCCVokWSK4k3SmomJGL13zt1ocD&#8221;]The two accused persons have since denied any wrongdoing, as investigations into the matter are also ongoing by a sub-committee in the NPP.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a letter Freddy Blay wrote to the National Executive Council, he explained that the said account has existed for years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Akufo-Addo, Prempeh and Co.
