Financial services company Bayport Ghana has rewarded 19 teachers from across the country who participated in the company\u2019s maiden edition of the Bayport Teacher Innovation Competition 4014.<\/p>\n
These teachers, drawn from both primary and secondary schools in Ghana are in their respective areas of teaching by employing simple and student\u2019s friendly innovative ways to aid teaching and learning.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile some of them are using Napier Multiplication model to aid children with learning difficulties, others were teaching children to write their own short stories for publication. Some of them are using animated videos for automotive engineering in technical schools while others were taking accounting students in SHS to SMEs to collect real life data as case studies,\u201d Managing director of Bayport Ghana Kofi Adu Mensah told Citi News<\/strong>.<\/p>\n 10 out of the 19 teachers, one drawn each from the regions received a cash prize of GH1, 000 for winning the Bayport Regional Teacher Innovator.<\/p>\n They will also receive advice, coaching and peer to peer learning.<\/p>\n The remaining 9 teachers, drawn from the Upper East, Greater Accra, Northern Ghana, Eastern Region, Volta and the Ashanti Regions received a cash prize of GH6,000 each for winning the grant prize. They will also receive professional coaching and expertise to scale their initiatives.<\/p>\n Mr. Kofi Adu Mensah indicated that \u201cthe award is in appreciation of the teacher\u2019s contribution to national development and innovative teaching in Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe teacher taught the doctor, taught the engineer, he taught all of us.
