Works on a new footbridge for the Kaneshie Mallam highway are steadily progressing.

There are currently two footbridges on the 6 kilometer stretch, all located at Kaneshie.

Aside markets, a significant number of churches and schools are located on the busy stretch that links the Greater Accra Region to the Central Region.

The additional footbridge is expected to significantly reduce the number of causalities on the road.

16 people died in different accidents on the highway in 2013 alone according to statistics from the National Road Safety Commision.

Citi News’ Eugenia Tenkorang visited the construction site and filed a report.
