The office of the Attorney General (AG) has expressed surprised at the\u00a0conviction of Charles Antwi, the \u00a0gunman who confessed he wanted to assassinate President John Mahama.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”rtAA5nVGoMLKNOxm0bcUNo1MAbmDhpuL”]According to the Director of Public Prosecution at the AG’s office, Yvonne Atakora Oboubisa, the convict, Charles\u00a0Antwi was on the day of his conviction sent to court to be only remanded in lawful custody for further investigations.<\/p>\n
She made this revelation in court on Friday, in a case filed by public interest lawyer Francis Xavier Sosu at the Human Rights court for\u00a0a\u00a0review<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>of the\u00a010 year conviction<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0of Charles\u00a0Antwi.<\/p>\n The AG also filed an application yesterday asking the High Court to\u00a0overturn<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0the ruling of the circuit court.<\/p>\n
