{"id":143587,"date":"2015-08-15T12:57:48","date_gmt":"2015-08-15T12:57:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=143587"},"modified":"2015-08-15T16:37:47","modified_gmt":"2015-08-15T16:37:47","slug":"doctors-strike-wouldnt-have-happened-under-npp-nasara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/08\/doctors-strike-wouldnt-have-happened-under-npp-nasara\/","title":{"rendered":"NPP would have prevented doctors\u2019 strike \u2013 NASARA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Coordinator of the NASARA Wing of the New Patriotic Party, Kamal Deen Abdulai has stated that the protracted industrial action by the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) would not have occurred if the NPP were in government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;2faV1vDFPaWteoDYsgdxPa5GAkp3BcNY&#8221;]The NPP has accused government of being insensitive over the doctors&#8217; strike.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nana Akufo-Addo has said the Mahama-led administration is <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/08\/13\/blaming-npp-for-doctors-strike-absurd-nana-addo\/\" target=\"_blank\">hiding behind the IMF bailout<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>programme \u201cto frustrate these important negotiations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Doctors in the public sector are demanding codified conditions of service and have resolved not to return to work unless their demands are met.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Several\u00a0negotiations between the GMA and government have broken down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking on <strong>Citi FM<\/strong>\u2019s New analysis programme, <strong>The Big Issue<\/strong>, Kamal Deen said the NDC had not been proactive in addressing the issue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cGovernment has not been proactive. If you deem the service as essential and you don\u2019t deal with issues as such, then there is a problem. The pieces of communication that came from presidency towards this particular problem would have been avoided if we [NPP] were in office.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIf we were in government no official would have come out to speak unguarded.\u00a0 These comments went a long way to fuel the impasse as we have it now.
