An Islamic scholar, Irbard Ibrahim has suffered severe burns from a gas explosion at his residence.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Citi News<\/strong> from the 37 military hospital, Irbard said he struggled to\u00a0access health care as a result of\u00a0the doctors\u2019 strike.<\/p>\n \u201cLast night I was going to boil some water to massage my aching hand when the gas exploded from the kitchen and extended to my bathroom which is 15 metres away, taking off the roof and inflaming the whole room,” he narrated.<\/p>\n “I was rushed to the nearest hospitals available but all of them rejected me because of the strike.\u201d<\/p>\n He was eventually admitted at the 37 military hospital where he is currently receiving treatment at the burns unit.<\/p>\n Irbard said, the incident could have ended his life but the intervention of some hospital doctors stabilised him.<\/p>\n “If a young person like me who is in Accra has to suffer this ordeal, what about the person living in a remote village who cannot access proper healthcare and also has to contend with the strike,\u201d Irbard said.<\/p>\n He therefore called on the government to speed up the\u00a0negotiation processes with the striking doctors so that more lives would be saved.<\/p>\n He also appealed with the doctors to be considerate and think about the harm that their actions are\u00a0causing.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Farida Shaibu\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" An Islamic scholar, Irbard Ibrahim has suffered severe burns from a gas explosion at his residence.
