{"id":143257,"date":"2015-08-14T11:27:59","date_gmt":"2015-08-14T11:27:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=143257"},"modified":"2015-08-14T11:28:18","modified_gmt":"2015-08-14T11:28:18","slug":"doctors-strike-brong-ahafo-regional-hospital-records-more-deaths","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/08\/doctors-strike-brong-ahafo-regional-hospital-records-more-deaths\/","title":{"rendered":"Doctors strike: Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital records more deaths"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital in\u00a0Sunyani is recording more deaths, because of the absence of medical\u00a0doctors to attend to patients since the Ghana Medical Association\u00a0(GMA) began their industrial unrest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;z6cFQmMaVAsMWkS7PAUnrAfSKib9Wt7Z&#8221;]AA security source at the Accident and Emergency Unit of the\u00a0Hospital, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during a visit to the\u00a0facility on Wednesday that uncountable deaths were being recorded\u00a0at the Hospital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the source it could count as much as 30 deaths\u00a0since last week, indicating that those who died at night were\u00a0excluded from the statistics\u00a0It said nurses at the facility had failed to attend to and\u00a0admit several patients who thronged the facility with some in\u00a0critical conditions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The source said the nurses were only providing medication to\u00a0patients who were already on admission.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the visit many patients were seen distressingly\u00a0unattended to while that notwithstanding, some more were seen\u00a0arriving at the facility to also seek medical care.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Doctor whom the GNA chanced upon, declined to comment on the\u00a0issue, saying the GMA had asked its members not to speak on any\u00a0matter concerning the strike.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Attempts made to speak to Dr Jacob Yaw Abebrese, Medical\u00a0Director of the Hospital failed as he was not on duty while his\u00a0mobile phone was also switched off.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Source: GNA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital in\u00a0Sunyani is recording more deaths, because of the absence of medical\u00a0doctors to attend to patients since the Ghana Medical Association\u00a0(GMA) began their industrial unrest.
