{"id":143157,"date":"2015-08-13T17:15:17","date_gmt":"2015-08-13T17:15:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=143157"},"modified":"2015-08-13T17:52:28","modified_gmt":"2015-08-13T17:52:28","slug":"ndc-to-hold-parliamentary-presidential-primaries-on-november-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/08\/ndc-to-hold-parliamentary-presidential-primaries-on-november-7\/","title":{"rendered":"NDC to hold parliamentary, presidential primaries on November 7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has set November 7, 2015 for its presidential and parliamentary primaries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;bPBT52Bb1V9RpzPhVLkxzw3O4hb6SEdn&#8221;]This was a decision taken at a Functional Executive Committee (FEC) meeting earlier today, attended by President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur among top party and government functionaries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was also announced during the meeting that every registered member of the party will take part in the exercise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Committee among other things proposed the expansion of the current Electoral College to include all biometrically registered members of the party.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The NDC has so far registered over 500,000 members in its new biometric registration exercise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It has anticipated to register about\u00a01.5 million members by August 31.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The NDC&#8217;s FEC also agreed on \u00a0a filing fee of GH\u00a250,000 for the presidential slot and\u00a0GH\u00a210,000 for male parliamentary aspirants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It also agreed on GH\u00a25,000 for women and disabled aspirants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Farida Shaibu\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has set November 7, 2015 for its presidential and parliamentary primaries.
