{"id":143010,"date":"2015-08-13T13:11:36","date_gmt":"2015-08-13T13:11:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=143010"},"modified":"2015-08-14T08:29:51","modified_gmt":"2015-08-14T08:29:51","slug":"dceto-ban-farming-activities-on-adaklu-mountain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/08\/dceto-ban-farming-activities-on-adaklu-mountain\/","title":{"rendered":"DCEto ban farming activities on Adaklu mountain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chief Executive of Adaklu District, Emmanuel Sky Ganaku hinted that the Assembly would soon \u00a0ban farming activities on the Adaklu Mountain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;1KtgT9rt4X4XEHG8nJcjwviD2q690krl&#8221;]This is to make way for a rock painting on the mountain to upgrade the mountain into a world class tourist destination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Emmanuel sky Ganaku said as part of measures to boost the tourism in the area artistic drawings and paintings will be made on the surface of the mountain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said the designs and materials are ready for the commencement of the project on the rock.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also appealed to the people to desist from cutting trees and bush burning for farming.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe time is due to develop the mountain; the drawings have come and designs are there. We are appealing to the community to stop farming or putting fire into the bushes on the mountain. Tourism goes with green and we want to see green on every part of the mountain\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The mountain located 12km from Ho and with a height of about 600m above sea level is a home for tropical wild animals including monkeys and different species of birds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aside the works on the mountain, other tourist sites which include the cemetery of German Allied Missionaries at Waya and the Kalakpa forest would also be developed to attract tourists to the area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chief Executive disclosed this to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> on the sidelines of the commissioning of a 3-unit kindergarten classroom block with auxiliary for pupils of Goefe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project which is an initiative from a German family is to provide an improved infrastructure and quality education to pupils in the Adaklu communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adaklu District is one of the 46 newly created Districts in Ghana in 2012 and was carved out of the former Adaklu-Anyigbe District now Agotime-Ziope District.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said although a new district, the assembly employ innovative ways of generating funds to improve the lives of its members.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: King Norbert Akpablie\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chief Executive of Adaklu District, Emmanuel Sky Ganaku hinted that the Assembly would soon \u00a0ban farming activities on the Adaklu Mountain.
