{"id":142536,"date":"2015-08-12T05:50:45","date_gmt":"2015-08-12T05:50:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=142536"},"modified":"2015-08-12T05:50:45","modified_gmt":"2015-08-12T05:50:45","slug":"ngo-offers-scholarships-in-africa-for-the-next-century","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/08\/ngo-offers-scholarships-in-africa-for-the-next-century\/","title":{"rendered":"Japanese NGO offers underprivileged Africans scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Distinguished students selected from 49 countries across Africa are set to benefit from an educational scholarships to attend some of the world\u2019s finest academic institutions over the next century.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The scholarship program which is an initiative of ASHINAGA-an international NGO based in Japan, seeks to provide psychological and educational support to orphans worldwide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;doTfl1ahwAqtgPNY8XgkLzKEPg6MFpst&#8221;]The project which is dubbed \u201cASHINAGA 100-Year Vision for Educational Support in for Orphaned Students in Sub-Saharan Africa\u201d, began last year where 10 students selected from 10 Sub-Saharan countries successfully gained admission to universities in U.S., UK, France, and Brazil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The goal of the program is to nurture future leaders who can contribute to poverty eradication in Africa; allowing them to overcome their difficult experiences and social vulnerability to bring positive change to society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One student from each Sub-Saharan African country will be selected to join the program every year. ASHINAGA will provide these students with the training, opportunities and finances necessary to study at the world\u2019s leading universities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project is also designed to secure the future of Africa by contributing to poverty eradication in Africa through the provision of quality education to underprivileged young Africans.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The foundation has since its establishment in 1988 provided 38.4 billion Japanese Yen (328 million US dollars) to 38,795 orphaned students as of December 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Orphaned and unprivileged Ghanaian students are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Pius Amihere Eduku\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Distinguished students selected from 49 countries across Africa are set to benefit from an educational scholarships to attend some of the world\u2019s finest academic institutions over the next century.
