He said Vodafone would continue to support such events, especially as it would help to unearth more boxing talents for Ghana.<\/p>\n
Mr Wallace Nii Tackie Commey, acting Chairman, Greater Accra Region Ghana Amateur Boxing Association commended Vodafone for the sponsorship.<\/p>\n
He explained that the boxing bout would be held under eight different categories including, light weight, bantamweight, middle weight, welterweight, and heavy weight.<\/p>\n
He said winners of each category would be given a medal and other souvenir from Vodafone.<\/p>\n
He called on other organisations to emulate the gesture by Vodafone and support the association, especially in the area of capacity building of coaches and other officials of the game.
\nMr Numo Blafo, Public Relations officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, urged corporate organisations to help develop Bukom, a suburb of Accra, into a boxing arena.<\/p>\n
He said Bukom is a boxing incubator and developing the place into boxing arena would help unearth more talents.<\/p>\n
