Col Ahmed Burqibah, deputy director of Dubai Police\u2019s Search and Rescue Department said it was one of the most harrowing incidents of his career.<\/p>\n<p>The young woman died in the incident which happened on a beach in Dubai.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"aligncenter img-container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"img-align-center wp-image-5334510 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/metrouk2.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/08\/beach.jpg\" alt=\"beach\" width=\"457\" height=\"590\" data-orig-id=\"5334510\" data-orig-w=\"457\" data-orig-h=\"590\" data-max-width=\"620\" data-rsz=\"no\" data-rewritten=\"true\" \/><figcaption><strong>Lt. Col Ahmed Burqibah said it was one of the most harrowing incidents of his career<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Mr Burqibah said: \u2018This is one of the incidents which I cannot forget.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It shocked me and many others who were involved in the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The Asian father took his wife and kids to the beach for picnic and fun.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The kids were swimming in the beach when suddenly, the 20-year-old girl started drowning and screaming for help.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Two rescue men were at the beach, and they rushed to help the girl.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018However, there was one obstacle which prevented them from reaching the girl and helping her.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This obstacle was the belief of this Asian man who considered that if these men touched his daughter, then this would dishonour her. It cost him the life of his daughter.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Mr Burqibah said by the time the men had fought off the woman\u2019s father, she had drowned.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u2018The father was a tall and strong man. He started pulling and preventing the rescue men and got violent with them.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018He told them that he prefers his daughter being dead than being touched by a strange man.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018She died unfortunately, at a time when she had a chance to live, especially that the rescue men were so close to her to pull her out of the water.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Mr Burqibah added that the girl\u2019s father was later arrested and prosecuted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Metro UK<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A father stopped lifeguards from rescuing his drowning daughter because he did not want \u2018strange men\u2019 to touch her.
