President John Dramani Mahama has announced that government has allocated a total of GH\u00a2 27 million for the asphalting of the Kesseh-Ada road in the Greater Accra Region.<\/p>\n
He said the Ada area had a lot of tourism sites and the re-construction of the road would open up the area to tourists and investors especially in aquaculture and salt production.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n President Mahama said this when he joined the people of Ada to celebrate the Asafotufiami festival of the chiefs and people the Ada traditional area.<\/p>\n Asafotufiami festival, which means firing of muskets, is celebrated annually to mark the heroic performance of their ancestors to safeguard their lands and property from their enemies.<\/p>\n It was attended by ministers of state, Africans in the Diaspora, and politicians from the area.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n President Mahama said roads are essential to development and his administration would continue to pursue the road construction agenda to create more opportunities for Ghanaians.<\/p>\n On salt production in the Ada-Songhor area, President Mahama said there is the need to develop modern efficient technology to produce good quality salt that could compete favourable in the global market.<\/p>\n The establishment of the factory, he said would also employ many more youth and reduce the migration of the youth from rural to urban areas for non-existent jobs.<\/p>\n
