{"id":141722,"date":"2015-08-09T11:13:47","date_gmt":"2015-08-09T11:13:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=141722"},"modified":"2015-08-09T11:45:08","modified_gmt":"2015-08-09T11:45:08","slug":"gh%c2%a238-million-budgeted-for-leap-oye-lithur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/08\/gh%c2%a238-million-budgeted-for-leap-oye-lithur\/","title":{"rendered":"GH\u00a238 million budgeted for LEAP &#8211; Oye Lithur"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nana Oye Lithur, Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection has announced that her outfit will spend GH\u20b5 38 million on the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) this year.<\/p>\n<p>This, she said would improve on the lives of the extreme poor in the society.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;eVDAj8O5WgLNhjPWFKK7A3pOhWTTL6hs&#8221;]She said GH\u20b5 12 million out of the total was released in the first quarter of the year while GH\u20b5 12 million was let go in the second quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Oye Lithur disclosed this at Gnani in the Yendi Municipality during her tour to a local witch\u2019s camp, where she presented assorted items including slippers, cooking oil, cartons of milk and rice to the residents.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister also visited Nadundo in the Mion District where she verified the registration of some pregnant women and children under-one year registered under the LEAP 1000 project.<\/p>\n<p>The LEAP 1,000 is a project supporting the beneficiaries to get nutritious meal for \u00a0full growth and development.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Oye Lithur said 90,000 households and 360,000 persons would benefit from the LEAP, which increased from GH\u20b5 44.00 to GH\u20b5 62.00.<\/p>\n<p>She said the money would be paid in September and would benefit about 150,000 persons suffering from extreme poverty.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Dzigbordi Agbekporni, LEAP Manager said the LEAP 1000 project would span two years and would take care of the malnourished \u00a0children and improve the nutritional status of their mothers.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Alhassan Shei, Tindana of Gnani witches camp appealed to the minister to intervene in providing the facility with potable water, educational facilities and a clinic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: GNA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nana Oye Lithur, Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection has announced that her outfit will spend GH\u20b5 38 million on the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) this year.
