Overlord of Gonjaland, Yagbon-Wura Tuntumba Boresa II has expressed his deepest worry that one Charles Antwi planned\u00a0to kill President John Dramani Mahama.<\/p>\n
He raised this concern at the inauguration of the 147 kilometer stretch asphalted Fufulso-Sawla road in the Northern Region.<\/p>\n
He recounted the incarcerated Charles Antwi\u2019s failed attempt to kill the President at the first family\u2019s church, hence his call for the President\u2019s maximum protection.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to use this opportunity to register my sincere regret and mixed feelings when an attempted assassination of His Excellency was evidenced.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo schools of thought came in mind when the news was in the public domain: I registered my deepest displeasure to the act the fact that if that was done we were going to lose a valuable asset who indeed in the history of Ghana may be second to none and the second look of the matter I concluded that President Mahama is working for the people in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n
He has therefore underscored the need for the nation\u2019s security operatives to be extra vigilant in protecting the President.<\/p>\n
The Yagbon-Wura insisted that the Presidential guards should intensify their surveillance network to forestall evil machinations aimed at killing President Mahama.<\/p>\n
\u201cThough our security personnel demonstrated professionalism, I still urge them to be extra vigilant around the President of the Republic of Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n
He commended government for the numerous completed and ongoing projects in Gonjaland.<\/p>\n
He however appealed to government to fix the water crisis in Damongo Township.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Damongo water situation is still the same and this situation usually permit students to compete with their parents for water in Damongo: it is sad that students usually compromise their studies with the search for water in Damongo.\u201d<\/p>\n
