The Vice President, Mr K. B. Amissah-Arthur, on Tuesday laid the foundation\u00a0stone at Buranamua, near Anomabo in the Central Region, for Ghana\u2019s first\u00a0fisheries college.<\/p>\n
Known as John Evans Atta Mills College of Fisheries, it is a tribute to the late\u00a0President for his commitment to its establishment as well as his vision to\u00a0accelerate the transformation of the fisheries sub-sector.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Amissah-Arthur observed that the fisheries\u00a0college, which is in fulfillment of one of the government\u2019s major campaign\u00a0promises to the players in the fishing industry, will lead to a new era of\u00a0sustainable marine resources management and aquaculture development in\u00a0Ghana.<\/p>\n
