The Winneba District Magistrate Court, has remanded an ex-convict into prison custody for unlawful entry and stealing two mobile phones.<\/p>\n
Joshua Ghansah, 23, pleaded guilty and is to re-appear before the court on August 10.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”kydGBOIlHwTdBZdQ8OeiakbSihGHFCla”]Police Inspector Peter Agbelie told the Court presided over by Mr Alexander Oware that Kobina Mensah and Kofi Mensah both live in the same house at the Roman School area in Winneba while the accused is unemployed and a native of Gomoa Awombirew.<\/p>\n
He said the accused had just returned from prison after serving a three months sentence for stealing two mobile phones at Fetteh, a community in Winneba.<\/p>\n
The prosecution said on July 31 at about 0300 hours, the accused unlawfully entered the rooms of the complainants while they were asleep and stole their mobile phones valued at GH\u20a1 60.00 each.<\/p>\n
Inspector Agbelie said the wife of one of the complainants who had left the room to begin her daily chores met the accused coming out from the room.<\/p>\n
He said she raised the alarm and the husband and others came to apprehend the accused person.<\/p>\n
Inspector Agbelie said when the accused was searched two phones belonging to the complainants were found in his pocket.<\/p>\n
He said the complainants handed the accused over to the police and in his caution statement, he admitted the offence and pleaded for leniency.<\/p>\n
Inspector Agbelie said after investigations the accused was charged with the offence and arraigned.<\/p>\n
