{"id":140458,"date":"2015-08-04T11:48:02","date_gmt":"2015-08-04T11:48:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=140458"},"modified":"2015-08-04T11:48:02","modified_gmt":"2015-08-04T11:48:02","slug":"govt-is-biased-against-us-bimbilla-butchers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/08\/govt-is-biased-against-us-bimbilla-butchers\/","title":{"rendered":"Gov&#8217;t is biased against us &#8211; Bimbilla Butchers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Bimbilla Taribabu Butchers gate has accused the government of\u00a0bias towards the regent of the area in the dispute.<\/p>\n<p>The Secretary of the Butchers Gate, Fuseini Yakubu told <strong>Citi News<\/strong> that government failure to adopt a more neutral position\u00a0on the matter has resulted in their inability to resolve it.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;VF3pGtYQko600V3Zuq71AHK7Li1LLorr&#8221;]About 19 people were killed and several properties destroyed in clashes after the regent accused the butchers of failing to observe some traditions.<\/p>\n<p>Some butchers allegedly refused to present a portion of their meat which weighs 2.5 pounds to the Regent \u00a0setting off the clashes.<\/p>\n<p>The butchers have since returned to work after police and the military restored calm in the area, however the regent insists he will reject any attempts to disrespect their tradition.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you look at the whole process, we are saying that government did not handle this issue well and they have taken the side of the regent,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Three of the suspects have been arrested. The rest are roaming free in Bimbilla.
