About 80 out of the 91 junior doctor’s previously owed salaries for 11 months have received the full complement of their arrears.

[contextly_sidebar id=”aX9lP0dd5nEUYt5w4vDRibhVXOri26C5″]The affected doctors were given the assurance that they would receive their monies after picketing at the offices of the Controller and Accountant General’s Department a week ago.

Confirming the current situation to Citi News, spokesperson for the junior doctors, Dr. Nana Kissi Attafah who was full of praise for the media, revealed that the 11 remaining doctors should receive their arrears early this week.

“Out of the 11, nine are supposed to take their cheques from the 37 military hospital. We have confirmed that their monies have been paid to their accounts and should reflect in the 37 military hospital’s GCB account by close of day on Monday for them to issue the cheque for those nine doctors.”

“Two are banking in Barclays and I’m told Barclays is trying to gain some reconciliation. So we are hopeful that by close of day Monday, everybody should be paid. As it stands now, 80 out of 91 have received their salaries. We are very grateful to the media because without them, we couldn’t have gotten our money,” he added.
