Philip Addison had earlier raised concerns over the party’s decision to hold the election today [Sunday].

He said he was quite confused upon hearing that the party had decided to organise the primaries on Sunday because party executives had met on Friday and agreed on a different date.

“At the meeting, we had agreed that Sunday was not a suitable date … we had agreed that the elections will come on 28th August. The meeting was convened by the Constituency Chairperson, a Member of the Elections Committee, one of the aspirants etc.”

Mr Addison also accused the NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong who signed the press release announcing the Sunday date, of being the brain behind organising the primaries.
