<\/p>\nGhanaian fullback Harrison Afful has joined MLS side Columbus Crew despite interest from several Asian and European teams according to Ghanasoccernet.<\/p>\n
The 29 year old ended his contract with Tunisian giants Esperance after a 6 year spell that saw him win the Caf Champions league and several domestic titles.<\/p>\n
Afful who is a vastly experienced international has featured in four African Cup of nations for the Black Stars and was also a member of the Black Stars Brazil 2014 World Cup squad.<\/p>\n
Afful has already declared his intent to assimilate the culture and tactics of the team to enable him settle in quickly in his new surroundings and with his teammates.<\/p>\n

“I just hope I\u2019ll be able to adapt to the system of the team and then make sure I will do my best for the club, even though it\u2019s a short time. But for me, I believe in myself and I know I can do it. Even though it\u2019s a big challenge for me, I believe I can do well for the club,” he said.<\/p>\n
The player added that he is looking to quickly put in the work to help him perform at his optimal level.<\/p>\n
“I always say one thing to myself. I already have the talent, so if you have the talent, you need to work. You need to work more. This is a great challenge I have taken in. I need to work a lot to get to my standard. And there is a saying: to be at the top is easy, but to maintain it is very difficult. So, I\u2019m just hoping I\u2019ll maintain my performance,” he told the clubs official website.<\/p>\n
