Gasmilla is getting ready to embark on a massive clean up exercise, in preparation for the annual Homowo festival. The week-long clean up exercise begins on the 15th of August and the #Telemo hit-maker is rallying the public to come together to rid communities off filth.

After a successful #Telemo challenge, Gasmilla hopes to use his clout to promote proper sanitation and hygiene with the Gasmilla Homowo Clean-up Campaign.

He has released a song to drive the message home. He features Ruff & Smooth, Wanlov, Adane Best, Lucky Mensah, Edem, Raquel, Double, Shilo and Flowking Stone, and admonishes the general public not to litter, urinate at unauthorised places and desist from harming the environment.

Aptly titled Falefale, which means cleanliness in Ga, Gasmilla says he expects the general public to support his vision and drive to get communities cleaned up.

“Falefale means cleanliness, so we preaching cleanliness. We have lost lives due to cholera. Our beaches are dirty. Our environment is nothing to be proud of. I believe we must all join hands to promote proper sanitation,” he explained.

The activities lined up for the week-long exercise include cleaning up the major beaches in Accra, community education campaigns and concerts to entertain the various communities involved.
