One person was killed in the incident while seventeen others under the rubble of the building were rescued.

Those rescued are believed to be workers constructing the collapsed structure.

Although there has not been any official communication about what led to the collapse, residents and eyewitnesses blame the incident on “weak pillars of the building.”

“One of the pillars has a crack and I learnt that they informed and the owner said it will not do anything so they should chisel it and refill it again and that was what caused the incident,” an eyewitness told Citi News.
