Mr Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, aka Sir John, the out-spoken former chief scribe of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said he is down but not out of politics.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
He told the\u00a0Daily Graphic<\/strong>\u00a0Tuesday that \u201cwhat happened at the National Delegates Conference of the party at the Tamale Sports Stadium last Sunday is a temporary set-back.\u201d<\/p>\n Sir John, who garnered 1,990 votes at the party\u2019s delegates conference, failed to secure his re-election bid as one of his challengers Mr Kwabena Agyepong, secured 2529 votes to beat him. The other \u00a0challengers, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah and Capt. Nkrabeah Effah Dartey, had 179 and 41 votes respectively in that contest.<\/p>\n \u201cI am not going to stop serving the NPP; the ultimate for all of us is to work hard to win political power and to bring good governance to the country,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n Sir John, who is cooling off at his hometown at Wonoo , near Kumawu in the Ashanti Region, told the Daily Graphic by telephone that he was seeking the face of God.<\/p>\n \u201cAt the moment, I am in Wonoo, my hometown praying for God\u2019s direction in my next line of action,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n He pledged his unflinching support to the newly elected executive, particularly to Mr Agyepong, the newly elected General Secretary, to deliver victory for the NPP in the 2016 general election.<\/p>\n He told the Daily Graphic that \u201cGod has blessed Kwabena Agyepong with the position of chief scribe and I will support him to achieve his aim of giving NPP victory in 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n In his view, Mr Agyepong had a very good campaign and won the election fairly.<\/p>\n \u201cHe is now the chief scribe of the NPP.
