{"id":137405,"date":"2015-07-25T08:27:14","date_gmt":"2015-07-25T08:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=137405"},"modified":"2015-07-25T08:41:19","modified_gmt":"2015-07-25T08:41:19","slug":"parliament-to-blakk-rasta-go-and-sin-no-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/07\/parliament-to-blakk-rasta-go-and-sin-no-more\/","title":{"rendered":"Blakk Rasta pardoned by Parliament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Parliament on Friday tampered justice with mercy and pardoned former Hitz FM presenter Blakk Rasta after he alleged that about 80% of the Members smoke Marijuana (Wee).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Friday the Privileges Committee hauled him\u00a0to\u00a0the Bar of Parliament and asked him to apologise again infront of the whole House, even though he had earlier apologised to the MPs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;0Bwa5bQbe5WH72UfGVZ35ijQkFI7dOGj&#8221;]After his apology, the Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho asked Blakk Rasta to \u201cgo and sin no more,\u201d saying &#8220;we shall be watching you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prior to his pardon several other MPs including Majority Leader, Alban Bagbin and Minority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu asked the House to accept Blakk Rasta\u2019s apology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Minority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu welcomed the apology saying he has been persuaded by Blakk Rasta\u2019s &#8220;body language.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIf he is sincere and genuine with what he is telling us, from now on we\u2019ll all be watching and as the good book says by their fruits we shall know them&#8221; the Suame MP said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>How the story unfolded:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>June 18, 2015:<\/strong> Parliament <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/06\/18\/black-rasta-dragged-to-parliaments-privileges-committee\/\" target=\"_blank\">summons Blakk Rasta<\/a><\/strong><\/span> for alleging that about 80% or more of Ghana\u2019s legislators \u201cmight have used marijuana before or are using it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>June 22, 2015<\/strong>: Parliament <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/06\/22\/parliament-to-grill-blakk-rasta-on-thursday\/\" target=\"_blank\">officially invites Blakk\u00a0Rasta<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in a letter\u00a0signed by Ebenezer Ahumah Djietotror, Principal Assistant Clerk of the Privileges Committee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; Editor\u00a0of the Daily Searchlight Newspaper, <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/06\/24\/ken-kuranchie-blakk-rasta-to-face-parliament-today\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ken Kuranchie was also invited<\/a><\/strong><\/span> to Parliament\u2019 Privileges Committee for publishing Blakk Rasta&#8217;s claims in his newspaper.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>June 24, 2015:<\/strong>\u00a0Deputy Ranking Member of the Committee Nana Amoako assured that they will be fair to Blakk Rasta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>June 25, 2015:\u00a0<\/strong>Blakk Rasta apologised to Members of Parliament saying his comments came in \u201con the spur of the moment\u201d and on heat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>June 28, 2015: <\/strong>Reggae musician and radio host, Blakk Rasta is apparently not out of the woods yet, after Deputy Majority Leader, Alfred Agbesi hinted that Parliament is likely to punish him despite an apology from him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>July 6, 2015:<\/strong>\u00a0Controversial radio personality Blakk Rasta resigned from Hitz FM after eight years with the station saying he felt betrayed by his employers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; On that same day, self acclaimed dance hall king, Shatta Wale has taken to social media to mock controversial radio personality Blakk Rasta for quitting his job at Hitz FM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shatta called him a liar for making unsubstantiated claims on his show, Taxi Driver.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>July 24, 2015<\/strong>:Blakk Rasta was <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/07\/24\/blakk-rasta-in-more-trouble-dragged-to-bar-of-parliament\/\" target=\"_blank\">hauled before the Bar of Parliament<\/a><\/strong><\/span> to apologise again before he was pardoned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By:\u00a0 Godwin A.
