A driver and his mate have been arrested for allegedly attempting to transport eight hundred live cartridges to Techiman.<\/p>\n
The two, Kojo Billy aged 47 and Abraham Yorke, 23 were arrested at Dorbo, near Nsawam on Tuesday\u00a0evening.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”Xr4qA5qbHTiCRvsJdl0QWcaA4ZvZ3NAf”]The Police arrested them upon a tip off from an unnamed source.<\/p>\n Addressing the media in Accra, the Accra Regional Police Commander DCOP Christian Tetteh-Yohuno added that the alleged receipient\u00a0of the items has also been arrested.<\/p>\n \u201cUpon interrogation suspect Kojo Billy, the driver claimed his mate Abraham Yorke aged 23 loaded the goods in the vehicle without his knowledge, and that a certain Alhaji Wenchi of Techiman was to receive the cartridges. Further investigations led to the arrest of the alleged receiver and owner of the consignments in Techiman where he is based\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n He stated that the vehicle had been impounded and exhibits retained by the police as investigations continue.<\/p>\n
