Residents of Tema Newtown were awoken by tragedy early Monday morning when two young sisters met their untimely death in a fire that burned the wooden structure they were sleeping in to the ground.<\/p>\n
Emmanuella Quainor, aged four, and Gifty Quainor, aged 14, and nine other relatives were residing in the structure when the fire began around 2 am. <\/span><\/p>\n It is believed that a candle, which had been lit due to a power outage in the area, was the source of the fire.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0The four-bedroom structure, the drinking spot it was attached to, and all of their contents were completely destroyed by the fire. According to the Assistant Chief Fire Office, he and his officers had difficulty reaching the scene due the road being blocked by canopies that had been mounted for a funeral.<\/span><\/p>\n The outfit discovered the girls\u2019 bodies upon arrival.
