{"id":136221,"date":"2015-07-21T05:45:09","date_gmt":"2015-07-21T05:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=136221"},"modified":"2015-07-21T06:23:24","modified_gmt":"2015-07-21T06:23:24","slug":"bimbilla-update-butchers-resume-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/07\/bimbilla-update-butchers-resume-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Bimbilla update: Butchers resume work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The butchers at Bimbila have resumed the sale of meat after a meeting with the District Security Council, days after a misunderstanding between them the Regent sparked troubles in the area and left about 19 people dead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;nXenIJm5fJPPTILwDHY6bJEMZ7DJQ4jJ&#8221;]An order to stop some of the butchers from using the abattoir for failing to present a portion of their meat to the regent of Bimbila led to the shooting incidents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The abattoir had been closed since the incident until the eve of the Eid-ul-Fitr festivities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A journalist with Gmantambo radio in Bimbila, Mohammed Ameenu Alabira told <strong>Citi News<\/strong> that the butchers have all resumed their duties amid heavy security presence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He added that school children are yet to return to school after the incident even though schools haven\u2019t officially been closed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe schools are still closed. I spoke with some headmasters and they said they will go to school to see if the children will come.\u00a0 But some parents are saying the place is still not safe so they will not allow their children to go to school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mohammed Ameenu Alabira also\u00a0said the district education directorate had told him that they \u201ccannot also guarantee the safety of the children so they are still monitoring events and\u00a0will meet later to take \u00a0a decision on the matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Godwin A.
