The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is alleging that some executives of the Ghana Education Service have been victimizing the headteacher of the Presbyterian School in Kukurantumi whose request for chalk provoked Ghana\u2019s second lady, Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur.<\/p>\n

\u201cReport reaching us is that the GES has sent various inspectorate teams to the Kukuruantumi Presby Primary school since this incident, ostensibly to victimize the headteacher and her staff for speaking the truth about the plight of teaching and learning in their school.\u201d<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”LJT2lYJIPwAICQLfQko2DTPjTwyotZRK”]\u201cThis is a dangerous development and must be stopped immediately,\u201d a statement signed by Kinson Akomeng Kissi, Chairman of the NPP Eastern Regional branch stated.<\/p>\n

Mrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur while donating five computers to the Kukurantumi Presby Primary school which does not have electricity<\/a><\/strong><\/span> on Wednesday,\u00a0chastised the headteacher<\/a><\/strong><\/span> for asking for some educational materials.<\/p>\n

She said the provision of such materials are \u201cnot by force\u201d and that the teachers have been \u201cspoilt\u201d with the provision of free goodies.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Amissah-Arthur has since been criticised for making those comment<\/a>s<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

The Eastern Regional branch of the NPP said \u00a0\u201cwe are scandalized by Mrs Amissah Arthur\u2019s statements especially bearing in mind the fact that she is the second lady and must know better to be compassionate and all embracing.\u201d<\/p>\n

They further urged the teachers in the Eastern Region and the country as a whole \u201cto continue with their good work in the face of the constraints and challenges created by the Mahama-NDC government.\u201d<\/p>\n

They assured that “the NPP, under the able leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo, will restore and advance our educational system in its rightful transformative direction for the betterment of our young ones who are our future.\u201d<\/p>\n
