{"id":135035,"date":"2015-07-16T06:28:35","date_gmt":"2015-07-16T06:28:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=135035"},"modified":"2015-07-16T06:30:57","modified_gmt":"2015-07-16T06:30:57","slug":"fuel-prices-to-go-down-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/07\/fuel-prices-to-go-down-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Fuel prices to go down today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) are expected to review downwards, the prices of petroleum products today [Thursday].<\/p>\n<p>The Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD) on Wednesday estimated that the reduction is<span style=\"color: #666699;\"> <strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/07\/15\/fuel-prices-should-go-down-by-at-least-25-tomorrow-bdcs\/\" target=\"_blank\">likely to be pegged at 25%.<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;QbvaBHpoxNQAy1Ov7TqFnOmuBkFyaIza&#8221;]This reduction has been occasioned by the cedi\u2019s recent appreciation against its major trading currencies.<\/p>\n<p>Since the cedi began appreciating against the dollar, there has been<a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/07\/13\/reduce-fuel-prices-acep-to-omcs-bdcs\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong> enormous pressure on the OMCs and the BDCs<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>to significantly reduce the prices of petroleum products which have gone up twice since June 15 when they were given the mandate to determine prices.<\/p>\n<p>However, the former CEO of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby is demanding a least, a 23% reduction from the OMCs.<\/p>\n<p>He argued that the price indicators \u00a0of the Bulk Oil Distributors show a decrease of over 25% so \u201cif BDCs have dropped their price by 23% why are we not talking about 23% drop at the market place and why are we not talking about the fact that a cedi of two weeks ago is worth more than a cedi of today so maybe the OMCs should look at the value of their margins.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) are expected to review downwards, the prices of petroleum products today [Thursday].
