Management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has relocated its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to the East Wing of the Maternity Block for renovation works on the facility to begin.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”mIfCatCIZ3NOmDJKHVqTCVi21isa93Kq”]According to a statement signed by Mustapha Salifu, Head of Public Relations Unit of the Hospital, \u201cas a result of this renovation, the Hospital will not be unable to take new referral cases. Patients who require neonatal services should, thus, be referred to other hospitals for the necessary care.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement added that currently, the facilities there are being evacuated to the temporary location to enable the renovation works to begin from Wednesday, July 15, 2015 and it is expected to be completed by Monday, November 9, 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe renovation, which is part of the major retooling of the Hospital by Government and will include the complete replacement of all equipment with new one and structural works.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement added that \u201cwhile the inconvenience involved in carrying out these works is regrettable, it is being done with the sole aim of improving the services offered to our cherished neonates and others.”<\/p>\n
