Mr Agyabeng Mensah Abrampa, Regional Manager of the NRSC said the Passenger Empowerment Campaign Programme was aimed at empowering passengers’ interest and knowledge in road safety to enable them to become advocates.

Mr Abrampa disclosed that 84 people died in 322 road accidents reported in the region from January to March 2014 as compared to the 152 road accidents which killed 68 people in the previous year.

He appealed to stakeholders to support the three-month campaign to help reduce road accidents in the region.

Mr Abrampa said the theme for the campaign is “passengers speak up, don’t get killed on the road.”
