The Oguaa Traditional Council has served notice it will go ahead with celebrations of this year’s Oguaa Fetu Afahye in September.

This follows a high court ruling asking the National House of Chiefs to delete from its records, the name of the Omanhene of the Oguaa Traditional Council.

[contextly_sidebar id=”DVCg4qwXqNvM4HS2eym8NktXYPQr983z”]The High Court ruled that the process leading to the enstoolment of Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, some 17 years ago was fraught with fraud hence their order.

A member of the Supi Council; King makers in area, Thomas Yaro told Citi News that their annual festival will be celebrated irrespective of the courts order.

"Osabarima
Osabarima Kwesi Atta II

“We enstool and destool a chief. When this issue came up, there were speculations that the Osabarima Kwesi Atta II has been destooled. The chief can be destooled when we have performed the customary rites, but this is a ruling from the court, so we don’t want to interfere with it,” he said.

Thomas Yaro added that “the festival is for the town and not for one person, so whether we have a chief or not, the celebration will go on. This will not affect our celebration this year. so we are appealing all those who want to come to do so because there be no problem at all.”
