President Mahama has commended the Ghana Armed Forces for preventing what could have been a fatal accident.

The President and the First Lady escaped harm after the helicopter in which they were flying from Sunyani to Kumasi embarked on a ‘precautionary landing.’

The incident happened about 100 metres away from the Apatrapa Government Hospital in the Ashanti Region.

The President, who was grateful for the timely intervention of the Ghana Armed Forces said “I feel great pride for our armed forces. Great intuition shown by our heli pilots. I feel so proud. And at the controls was a woman.”
