An Accra Magistrate Court has deferred the ruling on an application<\/a> for bail filed by the lawyers of two accused persons who have been accused of murdering the\u00a0New Patriotic Party\u2019s (NPP) Upper East Regional Chairman, Adam Mahama.<\/p>\n The Judge, Worlanyo Kotoku explained that the ruling was not ready and that it would be ready and delivered on\u00a0Friday, July 10, 2015.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”whaH49priFDuOAhPCMkdfR9f2Bxe5teg”]One of the accused persons, Gregory Afoko told the Judge he was unwell and the\u00a0state prosecutor on the case, was also absent from court.<\/p>\n The lawyers for the two accused persons, Gregory Afoko and Musah Issah filed a bail application<\/a> at the court stating that\u00a0the continuous detention of their clients for murder is illegal since no substantive evidence have been brought against them.<\/p>\n The two have been charged\u00a0with conspiracy to commit crime, to wit murder and murder.<\/p>\n Adam Mahama died after an acid attack and Afoko, who is the younger brother of the NPP’s National Chairman, Gregory Afoko was arrested after he was reportedly named by Adam Mahama before his death.<\/p>\n Musah was later arrested\u00a0for allegedly buying the acid that was used for the attack.<\/p>\n
