A rainy Thursday left residents of Esienimpong in the Ejisu Juabeng Municipality in the Ashanti Region wailing, after a mother and her 5-year-old were crushed to death under the weight of a collapsed building.<\/p>\n

Two others also sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Ejisu Government hospital.<\/p>\n

Narrating the incident to\u00a0Citi News<\/strong>, an eyewitness Adwoa Mary said the deceased and her family were seeking shelter when the rain started pouring in and rather met their untimely death.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe house of Amalia is very old so when the wind got stronger, she decided to run to a neighbor\u2019s house but unfortunately when she reached the building all we heard was a sudden strong unusual sound, by the time we got here, she was already dead,\u201d she narrated.<\/p>\n

The lifeless bodies of the mother and the 5-year-old girl have since been deposited at the hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy while Police commence investigations into the matter.<\/p>\n
