The Volta River Authority (VRA) in the Brong Ahafo Region has called on the general public to help them find syndicate operating in the area as staff members of \u00a0VRA and extorting money from unsuspecting customers.<\/p>\n
According to the management, some unscrupulous persons have been parading themselves as staff of VRA selling stolen meters and connecting power illegally to persons.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”aKGX2PcOsStf7etteANydK2R0Xv2lTu2″]Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Brong Ahafo Regional correspondent, Kwadwo Brefo gathered that the syndicate is depriving the Authority of millions of cedis.<\/p>\n At a press briefing, the area Manager of Techiman at the VRA station, Mr. Charles Yekunu cautioned residents against dealing with the criminals.<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t sell meters, anybody who sells meters to them is a criminal and anybody who receives or buys those meters is also an accomplice.\u00a0Therefore, if we get such people, we are not going to arrest or deal with the seller but the buyer as well.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u00a0\u201cWe want you (the media) to get this information to them because they are not aware that even the buyers are also culprits, so that we can stop this menace.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Selassie A.
