But for the timely intervention of the Rapid Deployment Force from the Tema Regional Police Command, an irate group of young men, who claim they were Dagomba youth numbering about 200, massed at the Ashaiman District Police Headquarters, with the intention of forcibly releasing from the Police cells, a colleague who was in custody for allegedly shooting someone at Ashaiman Old Tulaku.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, June 28, the Command received information that, five men armed with shot guns stormed Ashaiman Old Tulaku at 12.20am, attacked and shot at one Shirazu Fatau, a brother to the complainants in the neck, and bolted.<\/p>\n
At about 11.05am same day, the complainants succeeded in arresting two suspects, Ibrahim Shaban, 19-year-old Auto Mechanic who lives at Ashaiman, who then led them to the hideout of the second suspect, a 26 year old driver\u2019s mate at Adjei Kojo.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n On the same day, at about 12.30pm, some youth numbering about 200 thronged the Ashaiman Police Station to forcefully rescue the suspects.<\/p>\n A team from the Rapid Deployment Force from the Regional Police Command, who were called for re-enforcement, brought the situation, under control with the assistance of some opinion leaders who calmed the youth by appealing to them to leave the Police station.<\/p>\n In another development, the driver of a Pontaic Vibe Salon Car with registration number GN 3359-12 absconded with his accomplice and abandoned the car upon seeing Police.<\/p>\n A search conducted on the car revealed a Cutter and Ten (10) Bags of Granulated Sugar, which is suspected to have been stolen.<\/p>\n
