Thousands of traders at the Kejetia market in the Ashanti Region have been displaced by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s (KMA) relocation exercise which is currently underway at the market.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n Reports indicate that the whole area has been barricaded by security personnel, barring traders from entering the market.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”V7KD2B0wo2fNgvoYC1Jx9eNjwTjf7ztD”]A reporter in the region, Eliasu Tanko reported that : ” the\u00a0whole place has been barricaded. There is a heavy and intimidating situation here. The traders are not allowed to enter in. Some of them have protested.\u00a0Some of the traders I spoke to told me that they did not know they were going to barricade the whole place. They woke up as early as 3am only to find out that the whole place has been barricaded.”<\/p>\n
