Former Deputy Minority Chief Whip and incumbent Member of Parliament for the Upper Denkyira West, Benjamin Kofi Ayeh has been defeated in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”dA5LLYIwTNWOw1bPnQSvSA85b3mLsxm9″]He lost to Mr Samuel Nsonwa Gyan, a teacher and a businessman.<\/p>\n
Nsonwa is also the current Presiding Member for the Upper Denkyira West District Assembly in the Central Region.<\/p>\n
Benjamin Ayeh polled 115 while Samuel Nsonwa won the majority \u00a0with 220 votes.<\/p>\n
In all 335 delegates out of 337 voted.<\/p>\n
The Upper Denkyira West was among 30 other constituencies which could not vote in the NPP\u2019s June 13 primaries.<\/p>\n
This was because there were issues with some of the candidates contesting in those constituencies.<\/p>\n
However, only 9 constituencies out of the 30 were cleared to hold their primaries today.<\/p>\n
