There have been no reported casualties in the incident involving the collapse of the five-storey buildling at Apatrapa in the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n
The building collapsed at about 9:30 am on Sunday morning and there were initials fears from neighbours that people might be\u00a0trapped under the debris.<\/p>\n

Officials from the Abuakwa District police command and the fire service are at the scene and have cordoned off the area.<\/p>\n

Residents who spoke to Citi News <\/strong>suggested that the ‘dilapidated’ building’s weak foundation was responsible for the collapse.<\/p>\n Building collapses not a rare thing<\/strong><\/p>\n There have been several building collapses in recent years, often attributed to poor contsruction work on these structures.<\/p>\n
