The Minister for Roads and Highways, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini has announced that GH\u00a230 million out of the GH\u00a250 million released by government to support flood victims will be used to fix the roads destroyed by the floods.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”B8oFlLCkInyE4n7o0EeL48gr901wtOrI”]\u201c\u2026I know, for a fact, that GH\u00a230 million of the GH\u00a250 million is going to look at restoring some of the roads that has deteriorated over the last few days by the downpours.\u201d<\/p>\n

President John Dramani Mahama announced last week that GH\u00a250 million will be allocated<\/a><\/strong><\/span> to help ameliorate the plight of those affected by the flood.<\/p>\n

Some of the money according to the Finance Minister has been given to the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to help victims with relief items.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an emergency intervention and we are directing it to areas and roads that have been adversely affected by the downpour,\u201d the Minister added.<\/p>\n

According to the Road Minister, the flooding was \u201ca national emergency and government has responded to it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Roads Minister disclosed this to Citi News<\/strong> during a tour of areas affected by last Wednesday\u2019s flood.<\/p>\n

Gov\u2019t to absorb medical bills of flood, fire victims<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur has revealed that government will take care of the medical bills of victims affected by Wednesday\u2019s floods and explosion at a GOIL filling station.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a tragedy that affects everyone and as a sign of our common humanity, the government has decided underwrite the medical bills of those injured in the disaster and are in the hospital\u201d the Vice President\u00a0said at a memorial service held at the Flagstaff House to commence the 3-day national mourning for victims.<\/p>\n
