A Human Rights Court in Accra has given the Convention People’s Party (CPP) the all clear to join a suit by\u00a0a civil society group, Food Sovereignty, which has sued government, seeking to prevent the release and commercialization of genetically modified foods in the country.<\/p>\n
The ruling of the court makes the CPP a second applicant in the case.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”afMUReQfzFqiY3KUWtm1a2kgSos8Y7uP”]Speaking to Citi News<\/strong> after the court ruling, chairperson of the CPP, Samia Nkrumah said the party will go every length to ensure that genetically modified foods are not commercialized in Ghana.<\/p>\n The CPP over the past few years has led a campaign against the passing and implementation of a law which will allow government to legalize genetically modified\u00a0products in the country.<\/p>\n
