A fuel station at Ejura Sekyere -Dumasi in the Ashanti Region was razed down by fire on Friday.<\/p>\n

It is unclear what caused the fire but the Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the fuel station was completely destroyed before personnel could bring the fire under control.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”oiSpjVUrCv854GBsTUtshqFaoWTwmYf5″]Two people are reported to have sustained various degree of injuries and have since been sent to the hospital for medical attention.<\/p>\n

This comes few days after a similar fire at a Goil fuel station<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in Accra claimed more than 150 lives.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Citi News<\/strong>, the Ashanti Regional Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Philip Arhin Mensah narrated that his outfit received a distress call around 3pm on Friday about the fire outbreak.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the fire tender at the nearest fire station in Ejura was unavailable therefore, residents had to a call the Mampong Fire Station around 5pm to come douse the fire.<\/p>\n

Arhin Mensah said there were two casualties but no recorded deaths.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne had serious burns so he was sent to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the other one had minor burns so he was sent to Ejura Government Hospital for treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n

He indicated that although the fuel station has been destroyed, \u201cwe will still investigate and see what caused the fire.\u201d<\/p>\n
