<\/p>\nThe Education Ministry has directed that children who reside in areas which have been affected by Wednesday’s floods and who have \u00a0not yet left for school to\u00a0stay at home until there is a change in the weather.<\/p>\n
The Education Minister, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang also called on teachers to keep an eye on children who had already made it to school and to give the children safety tips.<\/p>\n

“We know that some of the children get to school very early and so we are kindly requesting the teachers to keep an eye on those who are already in school till the weather lets up so that they can return home safely. Meanwhile they can give them some safety tips,” Prof. \u00a0Jane Naana Agyemang said.<\/p>\n
“We are also advising those who are home to adhere to the NADMO advise [to stay at home] and skip school for the day. We will monitor the situations from day to day as time goes on, ” she added.<\/p>\n

According to her, the children in the places where it is ‘very dangerous to move around’ should be kept an eye on as their curiosity might get the better of them.<\/p>\n
“You know how curious children get, they get excited by many things. They see the floods, they see the ripples and they just want to see what it is about. We need to let them know this is not a safe thing to do.”<\/p>\n
