Most parts of Accra have been heavily flooded after torrential rains that lasted for hours on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Reports reaching Citi News indicate that valuable property including buildings and vehicles have virtually been submerged by the floods in some areas.<\/p>\n
The floods have rendered many roads almost impassable causing heavy vehicular traffic in most parts of the city.<\/p>\n
Large parts of the Kwame Nkrumah circle, Old Fadama, Ofankor, Bubuashie, GREDA estate, Kaneshie First Light, Mallam Junction, Tetteh Quarshie roundabout, Teshie Nungua and Tesano are heavily flooded.<\/p>\n
Sections of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital was also flooded a situation that has grounded the elevator of the hospital.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n Citi News<\/strong> also understands that the arrival lounge of the Kotoka International Airport has also been flooded leaving passengers stranded.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Meanwhile Greater Accra Regional minister Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo says the regional security committee has already deployed a joint police-military force to provide assistance in one area or the other.<\/p>\n Stay away from the airport bypass.
