The Programme Manager of STAR-Ghana, Ibrahim-Tanko Amidu has won the World Bank\u2019s \u201cGlobal Partnership for Social Accountability Award,\u201d for Leadership in Social Accountability for the Africa Region.<\/p>\n
At the Awards Ceremony and Cocktail in Washington D.C, the World Bank Vice President for Leadership, Learning, and Innovation, Sanjay Pradhan commended Mr. Amidu and six others for their roles as champions of social accountability as a means for a more equitable society.<\/p>\n
The GPSA Award is a recognition granted by the World Bank\u2019s Global Partnership for Social Accountability to individuals in government, civil society organisations or the private sector for their outstanding contributions in the field of Social Accountability as a means to eradicate poverty and foster shared prosperity.<\/p>\n
The Award recognizes the influence and impact of its recipients in promoting social accountability in their countries and globally.<\/p>\n
The citation accompanying Mr. Amidu\u2019s award states among others that, his ability to\u00a0bring together development practitioners and CSOs to learn and support each other in implementing new participatory approaches to development.\u201d<\/p>\n
