Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea has dismissed claims that the party\u2019s General Secretary and National Chairman were not informed about\u00a0the press conference organized by the flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, to address the crisis in the party.<\/p>\n
According to him, \u201cnobody was invited, people were informed, some of them were able to come but some were not able to come. I didn\u2019t even see the National Organizer there because he was doing some other work.\u201d<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”NOFGSgbDAkufzaaePvh40rU78WDSyL5w”]Nana Addo on Friday addressed the party<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>members through the press, urging all feuding factions to “cease fire” and allow peace to prevail.<\/p>\n He also directed the private security at the party\u2019s headquarters to allow the General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong and National Chairman, Paul Afoko to access their offices<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>to carry out work.<\/p>\n After the press briefing, there were\u00a0questions about the absence of the two national executives at the event if truly, the flagbearer is aiming to unite the party.<\/p>\n Kwabena Agyepong in an earlier interview with Citi News<\/strong> however said he was only informed through a phone call from a member of the party\u2019s Council of Elders, Ama Busia to listen to Nana Addo address a press conference.<\/p>\n Paul Afoko on his part also said he was neither invited nor informed to attend the event but said he will continue to pray for peace and for reason to prevail in the party.<\/p>\n
