{"id":120393,"date":"2015-05-30T05:30:48","date_gmt":"2015-05-30T05:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=120393"},"modified":"2015-05-30T06:34:59","modified_gmt":"2015-05-30T06:34:59","slug":"kufour-nana-addo-et-al-cant-solve-npp-crisis-mp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/05\/kufour-nana-addo-et-al-cant-solve-npp-crisis-mp\/","title":{"rendered":"Kufuor, Nana Addo et al can\u2019t solve NPP crisis \u2013 MP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Member of Parliament for Kade in the Eastern region, Ofosu Asamoah says none of the leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) can help resolve the current impasse in the party.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;c4wapXfNrk3d6yfUueLQOjtdm0ZKWMiw&#8221;]The <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/05\/21\/confirmed-npp-ue-chairman-dead-after-acid-attack\/\" target=\"_blank\">death of the NPP Upper East Regional Chairman<\/a><\/strong><\/span> has created controversies in the party with some calling on the National Chairman and General Secretary to step down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the Kade MP, the elders in the NPP, have been dragged into the current conflict in the party hence the inability to independently intervene.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There have been calls from several quarters on the Council of Elders, the former president Kufuor and other stalwarts to intervene and bring the various factions to order.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Former President Kufuor on Thursday called for calm and urged NPP members to <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/05\/28\/stop-the-media-war-kufour-calls-for-npp-truce\/#sthash.x1qlrWtM.dpbs\" target=\"_blank\">stop tearing themselves apart in the media<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He cautioned party members against \u201cacrimonious accusations in the media\u201d which he said \u201conly serve to further divide their ranks and allow heir detractors to infiltrate them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On his part, NPP flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo has\u00a0advised members of the party to <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/05\/29\/cease-fire-lies-and-finger-pointing-nana-addo-to-npp-members\/\" target=\"_blank\">stop the internal wranglings<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0adding that\u00a0\u201cthe finger pointing, the name calling, the insults, the lies, the denigrating of past and current leaders must stop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But Kade MP doubts if any of the referenced leaders can end the squabbling.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ofosu Asamoah explained that \u201ctheir wings have been clamped before they are made to fly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Nana has been drawn into it, Kwadwo Mpiani has been drawn into it, President Kufour has been drawn into it, the Council of Elders have drawn themselves into it by going to issue a statement. The parliamentary caucus too have also gone into it by issuing a statement.
